Mission Statement
Our mission is to present the finest examples of contemporary practice in the performing, visual and literary arts for the purposes of educating, entertaining, and enriching lives. MIFA serves the economic revitalization of Holyoke through the preservation and reopening of the historic landmark Victory Theatre.
History
Since 1994, MIFA has presented 389 International & Specialty events featuring 2,581 artists from 61 international and national companies including 29 company debuts in America and 17 world premieres including the Rotterdam Opera, Ballet Nationale de Cuba, Dublin's Gate Theatre, South Africa's Market Theatre, the late Tito Puente, the very alive Eddie Palmieri, Vanessa Redgrave, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mira, and Paul Sorvino, Hal Holbrook, Oliver Mtukudzi, Archie Shepp, Frederick Wiseman and Rueben Santiago Hudson in “Lackawanna Blues,” and the First USA tour of London Shakespeare's GlobeTheatre.
