About Titicut Follies – The film (released in 1967, 84 minutes, in black & white) is a stark and graphic portrayal of the conditions that existed at the State Hospital for the Criminally Insane at Bridgewater, Massachusetts. For 50 years, with help from the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), he has created exceptional bodies of work consisting of 41 films devoted primarily to exploring American institutions.
