The world renowned la Comédie-Française presents a new play adapted and directed by Frederick Wiseman from a chapter of Russian novelist Vassily Grossman’s Life and Fate and starring France’s leading actress Catherine Samie.
A heartbreaking monologue, imagined as a farewll letter written in 1941 by a Russian Jewish woman doctor of unusual sensitivity and intelligence living in a small town in Ukraine recently occupied by the Nazis. Writing to her son, she reports what in happening to herself and the community. Performed in French with English subtitles.
