Audition Call for Instrumentalists
for Victory Players Contemporary Music Ensemble

The Victory Players in Holyoke Massachusetts seeks the following instrumentalists for its inaugural season, “El Puerto Rico, The Rich Port”:
a flautist, clarinetist, pianist, percussionist, violinist and cellist

Submit application with curriculum vitae; letter of intent, including web-links to recent videos of performances; at least one of which should be a solo performance. Please also provide three references. Deadline to apply is January 20, 2018. However, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
A program of MIFA Victory Theatre, the residency runs from May 29, 2018 to June 10, 2018 in Western Massachusetts. A stipend and housing will be provided. All are encouraged to apply. The Victory Players will be a Pierrot + Percussion ensemble, playing a diverse range of contemporary music. In this inaugural project, the ensemble will work with music inspired by the rich culture of Puerto Rico. The ensemble will work with clinicians to explore aspects of Puerto Rican style, and premiere new compositions written by the clinicians. In addition, the ensemble has been invited to high schools in the area and will share music from the first performance in school visits. The residency will culminate with performances in the city of Holyoke.
Candidate will demonstrate a high level of performance, particularly in the language of contemporary music, and have substantial ensemble performance experience. A spirit of inquiry and an interest in learning new languages of music is essential.
MIFA Victory Theatre presents the finest examples of contemporary practice in the performing, visual and literary arts for the purposes of educating, entertaining and enriching lives. MIFA serves the economic revitalization of Holyoke through the preservation and reopening of the historic landmark Victory Theatre.
