MIFA Victory Theatre in collaboration with Holyoke organizations present a St. Patrick’s Parade float honoring each organization and Holyoke.

 

APRIL

• Holyoke High School in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS - April 3-6, 2025 (TBA)

Sponsored by MIFA Victory Theatre

An 80’s cult classic, the hilarious, spooky musical follows the story of Seymour, a down-on-his-luck florist who discovers a strange and unusual plant after a solar eclipse

• An Informational Evening with MIFA Victory Theatre (TBA)

Hosted by the Holyoke Public Library. “Keeping the community informed” MIFA invites the community to an informational presentation about the Victory Theatre Project. Come ask questions, enjoy refreshments, and get to know our organization. Free & Open to the Public. 

 

MAY

• Victory Players Residency & Concerts: “Puerto Abierto”/ “Brasil” 

Residency: May 26 – June 7 & Concerts: June 6 & 7, 2025

The Victory Players are excited to perform the culmination of the Puerto Abierto project, celebrating the exchange of musical ideas in the Caribbean. Concurrently they will launch their new Brasil! project with previews of music by 4 composers inspired by the Brazilian American community in the United States. The residency also includes local education programs in Holyoke & South Hadley.

 

JUNE

• Special Event: Yale in Holyoke and Holyoke at Yale - June 14 & 15, 2025

A prestigious Yale concert series comes to Holyoke featuring MIFA Victory Players Puerto Rican-born Cuban composer Armando Bayolo’s world premiere of “Cancionero de luto” (Mourning Songbook) 

co-commissioned by SOLI Chamber Ensemble and the Yale Choral Artists. The June 14th concert will be in Holyoke with the program repeated on June 15th at Yale’s Sprague Hall. 

 

JULY

• JULY 5TH (TBA)

A new play by Ken Green in collaboration with Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC), co-produced by MIFA Victory Theatre. Directed by Donald T. Sanders and Music Design by Eve Wolf.  Frederick Douglass’ fraught preparation for his famous, fiery speech “What to the American Slave is the Fourth of July?” unfolds amid incendiary debates, political conflicts, and a scandalous love triangle. The music by Julius Eastman, George Walker, Joel Thompson, and updated spirituals.

 

AUGUST

EXTRA! EXTRA! MIFA Victory Theatre at Tanglewood - August 23 & 24, 2025

Debut of “Play With Time” by Eric Henry Sanders, the first new theater work to come out of a two-year-long effort of developing new plays in Holyoke. Featuring the music of Philip Glass, Directed by Don Sanders. Starring Rosalba Rolón and John Hellweg.

OCTOBER

• Renowned Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (PRTT) in TORCHED (Holyoke Version) 

Written & Directed by Rosalba Rolón with Music by Desmar Guevara. The NYC Pregones/PRTT company will visit Holyoke beginning in winter/spring 2025 to hold workshops that develop material from local sources that will then be incorporated into performances of TORCHED.

 

• Victory Theatre Tours at Doors Open Holyoke (TBA)

Join us for the annual Doors Open Holyoke 2025! See the historic Victory Theatre with guided tours by MIFA's Don Sanders. Things may look a little different inside... see the progress!

 

DECEMBER

• Victory Theatre’s 105th Birthday (1920) - December 31, 2025

A celebration of the historic Victory Theatre on its 105th birthday and New Year’s Eve.
