About the highly acclaimed and successful British painter David Hockney. A feature film without professional actors, rather real people appear as themselves and their relationships with each other are more or less a reality. Over a period of three and a half years, these people were gently and imperceptibly filmed and worked into a controlled plot.

A semi-documentary, part character study, part rock opera, part social documentary. A young British punk and roadie for The Clash navigates life in socially torn 1970s England.
