Join the Holyoke High School Theater Company for four hilarious performances of "Miss Nelson is Missing!"

In Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of the classic children’s story MISS NELSON IS MISSING written by Harry Allard and James Marshall, Miss Nelson can't control her crazy classroom because she's just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework-overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp! With the Big Test approaching, the kids suddenly realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and they'll do anything—including hiring a private eye—to solve the mystery of her disappearance and bring her back.

Under the leadership of Theater & Media teacher Bevan Brunelle, the Holyoke High School Theater Company is an after-school club that is an extension of the Performing & Media Arts Academy at Holyoke High. The cast and crew of this production involves students from grades 9-12 including: Jasiel Abreu Molina, Darius Baez, Eben Beaudry, Jaslyanna Dasilva, Nevaeh Dasliva, Danaliz Davila, Aidan Fontanez-Courchesne, Talitha Hernandez, Kaylie Lopez, Fynn Maldonado, and Ivan Rivera.

This production has been made possible by the generous support of MIFA and Victory Theater.
Brunelle said MIFA has been a terrific partner for the school’s theater company and hopes to continue their partnership into the future as the organization continues its growth in the city and prepares the reopening of the Victory Theatre.
“Year after year they just keep coming back and sponsoring us and supporting us,” Brunelle said. “They really love the arts in Holyoke, and they want students to be involved in as much as they can so we wouldn’t be able to do this without people like them and other sponsors we’ve had in the past.” - The Reminder, by Trent Levakis | Nov 4, 2024 | Hampden County, Holyoke, Local News
