Linda Hwang is an emerging cellist hailing from Brisbane, Australia. She performs regularly with Boston-based chamber and orchestral ensembles, including performances at esteemed venues such as Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Shalin Liu Performance Center, the Institute of Contemporary Art, TD Garden, and Mechanics Hall.
A strong proponent of innovation in the classical space, Linda is a core member of Analog By Choice, a Boston-based collective celebrated for its interdisciplinary performances, including appearances on the CMCB John Kleshinski Series and at Harvard University. She regularly performs with various groups such as the Du Bois Orchestra, Fermata Chamber Soloists, and Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra and has been featured in the Boston New Works Festival and Brisbane Artist Run Initiative Festival.
During her studies, Linda worked and performed with members of the Takacs Quartet, Brodsky Quartet, Cleveland Quartet, Australian String Quartet, and Opera Australia. She received her Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium under the mentorship of Markus Stocker and Dr. Meta Weiss and her Master of Music from Boston Conservatory at Berklee with Rhonda Rider.
Beyond performing, Linda is Director of Touring & Marketing at Ariel Artists Management, working closely with leading classical contemporary ensembles in the United States. She also serves as a teaching artist with the Boston Music Project, engaging with various community initiatives including the Celebrity Series of Boston Neighbourhood Series, Boston Children’s Museum, and the White Snakes Project community program.
